Tak terasa sudah hampir setengah dekade kita tak melihat Po dan kawan-kawannya yang jago Kung Fu beraksi di layar labar. Sekuel keduanya Kung Fu Panda 3 awalnya siap dirilis Desember 2015 ini. Namun karena bulan yang sama juga menjadi waktu kelahiran raksasa Star Wars: The Force Awakens, maka DreamWorks memilih bermain aman dengan menahan Kung Fu Panda 3 sampai awal 2016 nanti.

Namun itu tak menjadi persoalan karena akhirnya ada detail baru yang kita dapatkan tentang cerita film. Berdasarkan kabar dari Toy World yang ditangkap Rotoscope, Kung Fu Panda 3 menghadapkan Po dengan dua ancaman berbeda. Yang satu, supernatural dan yang lain lebih mengenai kehidupannya. Dia akan kembali ke tempatnya dilahirkan dan bereuni dengan ayah biologisnya, yang disuarakan oleh pemain baru Bryan Canston dari Breaking Bad.

Tak lama berselang, Po segera menyadari ia tak lagi cocok dengan lingkungan barunya, dan ia juga punya sebuah janji untuk panda bernama Mei Mei, yang disuarakan Rebel Wilson. Bintang Hannibal Mads Mikkelsen menjadi antagonis utama berwujud roh jahat yang memiliki julukan “The Collector”. Villain ini mampu mencuri kekuatan milik para master Kung Fu yang dikalahkannya.

Sequel Kung fu Panda ini hanya berdurasi kira-kira 30 menit. Film ini menceritakan PO yang diajak Master Shifu untuk mengikuti ujian. Po pikir itu semacam tantangan seperti ia melawan Tai Long tapi ternyata sangat jauh. Po disuruh untuk melatih anak-anak yang nantinya akan menjadi generasi penerus untuk melestarikan Ilmu bela diri Kungfu.

Po yang dalam keadaan bingung lalu menceritakan kisah-kisah The Furoius Five yang terdiri dari Monkey, Mantis, Crane, Viper, dan Tigress yaitu bagaimana mereka menguasai Kungfu dengan sangat hebat, seperti Monkey dengan kekuatannya untuk berbuat kebaikan, Mantis dengan kesabarannya, Crane dengan kepercayaan dirinya, Viper dengan keberaniannya, dan Tigress dengan pengontrolan dirinya.

Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) assigns Po (Jack Black) to host the annual Winter Feast at the Jade Palace, which is a highly ritualized formal occasion exclusively for the masters of Kung Fu. Although, Po offers his father the opportunity to cater it, Mr. Ping (James Hong) is adamant that he must stay at his restaurant for the lonely people who have nowhere else to eat for the holiday (and pay extra for it). Although Po struggles to cook for the banquet himself, he soon overwhelmed by the myriad of responsibilities. Fortunately, he enlists the reluctant assistant of Wo Hop (Jack McBrayer), a suicidal chef he accidentally disgraced earlier and the Furious Five to help complete the preparations.

S Y N O P S I S

Red Doc, a man that claims he can take on anyone and anything, arrives in town looking for more booze and more actions. Madame Lorraine spots him, and after inviting him upstairs, kills him and has two of her henchmen dispose of the body.

The next day, Jonah Hex arrives in town, looking to pick up a $5000 bounty on Red. After taking on a young man who taunts him, Jonah learns from a bar girl about Madame Lorraine, who goes after the men with money. Paying the girl off, Hex buys drinks for the entire saloon, getting Lorraine's attention and joining her upstairs. However, Hex manages to avoid her shot and knocks her out, then proceeds to kill her henchmen. Stepping out of the room, he is shot at by the bartender, whom he kills. He then demands that Lorraine tell him where Red is.
